Back to the south of France

Harley® riders are celebrating the return of the Harley-Davidson® Euro Festival to Saint-Tropez after being absent since 2018. Here is a brief history of one of the most iconic events in the H-D calendar

Long celebrated as one of the most attractive and stylish Harley-Davidson® events, the first to be held in the region was in 2001, with the announcement of the 11th European H.O.G. Rally. That event, held as a paid event at the Prairies de la Mer site on the edge of the Golfe de Saint-Tropez, quickly became one of the most talked about and celebrated Harley-Davidson and Harley Owners Group® events yet held, with a seductive mix of ingredients tailor-made to attract the riding community.

What made that first event such a success? First, the route to the event from practically anywhere in Europe provided what are undeniably some of the best destination rides, bar none. The beachside venue with the lights of St-Tropez across the bay provided an unforgettable backdrop to the partying and entertainment. The Saturday parade of bikes through the Provencal countryside and the town of St-Tropez itself was unsurpassed. The other attractions – the Custom Bike Show in the medieval village of Grimaud, the bands and entertainment from across Europe, the demo rides, the huge Expo, the restaurants and bars surrounding the area – and the attraction was undeniable.

Small wonder then that thanks to demand from the Harley community, the event returned as the 14th European H.O.G. Rally in 2005, attracting an even bigger crowd estimated at 13,000 riders. Seeing the demand for an event in this region, Harley-Davidson quickly responded by making the event the annual season opener in the calendar, starting with the first Harley-Davidson Euro Festival in 2007 as a completely free and open event.

The Euro Festival continued at the same site in Port Grimaud for the next 11 years, hosting bands such as Simple Minds, Status Quo, Europe and many more, continually developing and building on the elements that made the event great in the first place. Then, much to the disappointment of a legion of riders, changes to the site led to the event being dropped after the 2018 season, setting off a grassroots demand in the Harley community for a return to the area.

Now, on 8 May 2025, the Harley-Davidson Euro Festival is back. There is a new official event location, Camping de la Plage, adjacent to its original site. Camping de la Plage is a large campground alongside Prairies de la Mer, with its own supermarket, bars, restaurants, sports facilities, washing, toilet and shower blocks and beach club access; accommodation available includes caravan and tent pitches plus holiday apartments, chalets and studios.

The 2025 Harley-Davidson Euro Festival is a ticketed event and will feature main stage entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with international headline acts, as well as even more entertainment on additional stages. As well as the bands and music, the Custom Bike Show is back, as is the Parade of Bikes, and all the other elements that made the Euro Festival such a massively popular and iconic event. See you there!
