Meet the team

These regional officers are on hand to help with all things H.O.G.® chapters

As your Customer Experience Lead, I am delighted to introduce the H.O.G. UK and Ireland Regional Team – an incredible group of dedicated volunteers who share your passion for Harley-Davidson. The team plays a key role in supporting Chapter Committee members, offering additional guidance when needed, and are always here for the broader H.O.G.® community. Whether you’re a Chapter Director or a H.O.G. member looking for extra support or advice, the Regional Team is on hand to help ensure your experience is as exciting and rewarding as possible. Below, the team tell you 3 things about themselves and how they can possibly support you, as a H.O.G. member.
Vicki Green

Jo Bacon
UKI Regional Secretary

3 Things about you…
• I came to H.O.G. when a good friend invited Jeff and I to attend the Cider Rally in 2011. It was a great introduction and we were hooked!  After a few years riding pillion, I passed my test in 2014 and have since covered thousands of miles across Europe and the US.

• I’ve previously served my chapter as secretary and membership officer, and now I use this experience to support other chapter officers across the UK and Ireland.

• I can act as a liaison between chapters and H.O.G. membership services, helping to resolve any concerns, as well as linking with CPM in Barcelona if needed. I may not have the answer immediately, but I will always help to find someone who does!

Emma Poole
UKI Ladies of Harley Officer

3 Things about you…
If I had to share three of my favourite things they would definitely be:
• Touring
• Country music
• Canada.

I’m always here to offer support to the UKI H.O.G. chapters and members by either meeting up with them in person or online to help with anything they may need.

I’m usually out on my bike over the riding season so members are more than welcome to come to me for advice on female riding and how they could get more involved either with riding or pillion. I would also like to offer taking LOH members out on a ride for both riders and pillions.

Suz Paterson
UKI Ladies of Harley Officer

3 Things about you…
• My day job is as a registered manager of a care at home service in Edinburgh, managing 70 staff.

• My first long road trip as a pillion was all of Route 66 with Al, we did it all on our own.

• Al and I got married at the end of that trip in Las Vegas ,after being engaged for seven hours. Our wedding meal was a burger at the now-closed Harley-Davidson Café.

Emma and I have already been chatting about reigniting things for LOH and supporting the officers. We hope to connect online with new officers and anyone else who wants to chat to us. We would also like to support and develop inter-chapter events to help make connections and send regular comms with stories/info from us and other LOH officers. Lastly, we would like to set up a WhatsApp group for the LOH officers so there is a support network – let us know your suggestions for anything else you’d like us to do!

George McGuire
UKI Rally and Event Support

3 Things about you…
I would describe myself as:
• Hard working,
• Conscientious,
• Passionate,
• Adaptable,
• Easy going
• Resilient.

Manos Mood

3 Things about you…
Three fun facts about me are:
• I am part of Chelsea and Fulham Chapter
• My first Harley was a Sportster Iron, with which I did a number of long European bike trips
• When I say, “I will be there in five minutes,” I typically mean I’ll be at least 20!

Additionally, I love making videos and try to stay on top of new tech. So, if you need any help with storytelling, gadgets, editing etc. don’t be afraid to reach out.

Pabz
UKI Social Media Officer

3 Things about you…
Three fun facts about me are:
• I’m a veterinary surgeon and a teacher
• I ride with a heated jacket (even in August!)
• I will call out anyone who cooks paella with chorizo.

I’m happy to help support chapter officers and H.O.G. members by answering any questions about social media, so that chapter can reach more people and everyone can see how good the H.O.G. life is!

Martin Dickinson
Orphaned Chapter Co-ordinator

3 Things about you…
• In 2004 I competed in the World’s Strongest Biker in Las Vegas
• In 2009, I rode back to the UK from Faaker See in one hit
• I am also the founder of Ride to the Wall.

Having been a H.O.G. member since 2002 and a director on three occasions for a total of 14 years, I understand the meaning of H.O.G. and the importance of keeping the strapline of “ride and have fun”. I’ve been on the regional team twice and hopefully I can impart some of my H.O.G. knowledge, be it only 22 years’ worth, to the wider H.O.G. community.

John Power

3 Things about you…
• I bought my first motorcycle 10 years ago, a Sportster® Iron 883, and I’m now on my fifth Harley-Davidson, a Street Glide®
• I joined H.O.G right away and I am now proud to say I am a life member.
• I’ve ridden in more than 25 countries, and have a strong interest in all things space-related.

On the regional team, I’m working to grow the bond between the three Irish chapters. I’ll also ensure that Ireland isn’t overlooked and continue to support H.O.G. in evolving and growing Ireland BikeFest as one of the major events in the calendar.

Steve Spencer
Director Liaison – UK North

3 Things about you…
• I’m the director of Mancunium Chapter and riding Harley-Davidsons is my passion – I’ve covered 130,000 miles so far!
• I believe I am a very positive person who will help anyone who needs it, if I can.
• I’m here to help any director, if ever they need, but also to help dealer principals and H.O.G. keep the three-legged stool together, working as one big team. My advice to everyone is to be happy, be positive and ride your bikes with a big smile on your face!

Richard Kent
Direct Liaison – UK South

3 Things about you…
• I am the current director of 1066 Chapter and I’ve been a member for 20 years.
• I’m passionate about riding, having fun and being a member of a chapter.
• Over the years, I feel that I’ve accrued a vast knowledge of chapter business and in this role with the regional team I aim to assist others by giving honest, empathetic and constructive advice or help as needed.

Jeff Bacon
Director Liaison – UK Midlands and RC Trainer

3 Things about you…
• I’m a retired director of the Iceni Chapter, having previously held many committee posts including assistant director, safety officer and head road captain.
• I’ve been part of the national H.O.G training team for over six years and have enjoyed developing people’s skills and knowledge – either on or off the road.
• As an experienced business manager, I understand the strength of a great team… after all, success is not always guaranteed, but working together we can achieve so much more.

With a great network of contacts within Harley-Davidson, I’m happy to act as a conduit to people who can help you with most things H.O.G. or Harley® related. I enjoy the challenges of building bridges that dealers and chapters can easily live and work with.

Matt Green
UKI Demo Lead and RC Trainer

3 Things about you…
• I’ve been a H.O.G. member for 13 years and I’m now happily a life member.
• I closed my business to pursue a dream of working on motorcycles and I can now proudly say I am a Harley-Davidson master technician.
• My experience working for the Sherwood Chapter as secretary, assistant director and now director allows me to assist with chapter growth and development ideas.

Being an active road captain, road captain trainer, demo lead and European tour leader for Tour1 will hopefully give road crew the confidence to reach out and ask my advice on anything ride-out related.

Gordon Dick
UKI RC Trainer

3 Things about you…
• My passion for motorcycling and Harley-Davidson has led me to become a motorcycle instructor.
• My favourite bike to ride at the moment is my 1942 Harley-Davidson WLA.
• Lastly, I also lead tours for Tour1, an authorised Harley-Davidson tour provider.

Elaine Shepherd
UKI RC Trainer

3 Things about you…
• I love being part of something bigger than just me and my bike.
• The best times are when I’m having fun when I’m travelling, warming up with a cuppa after a cold ride or cooling off with ice cream after a hot ride. Nothing beats it!
• Meeting fellow H.O.G cousins from near and far is also a huge bonus for me. It’s great to be able to share both the fun and laughter with them as well as the stories and the experiences riding on the open road brings to your life.

Gareth Swanson
UKI RC Trainer

3 Things about you…
• I’ve been a H.O.G. member for 20 years and was previously director of the Rolling Hills Chapter from 2012 to 2016.
• I currently ride a Harley-Davidson® CVO Pan America and a Livewire.
• I also studied photography at college and worked in both commercial photography and media for five years before switching to IT.

I can offer support to UKI H.O.G. chapters and members by sharing my past experiences as a chapter director. Additionally, my specialist subject matter is communications; I know how to communicate with different people and I can also help with writing communications and content.
